In 2011 and prior, Panasonic used infrared (IR) to sync or “connect” the 3D Glasses to their 3D TVs.

Do Panasonic 3D Glasses Come In Different Sizes? Sort of. Panasonic 3D Glasses were sold in 3 different sizes: large, medium and small. We measured all three sizes and found the difference between them was only about 1/8″ between the frames. Worse, the size of the lens was exactly the same for all 3 sizes. There was no advantage in to purchase one size over the other since the lenses were all the same size, and a marginal difference in frame width! In addition…this also made it hard for Panasonic to keep them in stock with 3 models to manage, which may of led to the shortage Panasonic is faced with today. |

2012 and Beyond (Bluetooth)
In 2012 Panasonic switched from using Infrared (IR) to Bluetooth to sync or “connect” the 3D Glasses to their 3D TVs.
This means you can’t use the old Panasonic 3D Glasses on any Panasonic 3D TV manufactured in 2012 or later.
